CPE5000 is an innovative motorcicle helmet provided with localization and communication modules as well as sensors to perform a number of safety and security functions for the rider.

The project was commissioned by Poste Italiane the main postal service provider in Italy and one of the largest at a european level.

The architecture includes an on-board-unit (OBU) installed into the motorcicle which constantly receives information from the helmet.

Only once the device is properly worn (and fastened) the OBU communicates a ready-to-go status to the driver who, from there on, is monitored thanks to its integrated sensor (including accelerometer, GPS positioning and others).

CPE5000 is provided with a “panic button” function sending an alarm message to a control room which then can communicate with the unit thanks to its integrated Gsm-Gprs module.
